On September 7th Camilla Nylund received the Media Prize (Medien-Sonderpreis) of the Austrian Music Theatre Award (Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis) in Vienna.
According to Karl-Michael Ebner, the award committee’s president, captivating an audience within the confines of media broadcasting is one of an artist’s biggest challenges. A challenge which Camilla “not only masters – but does so with ease”.
Camilla herself speaks of the award as an honour, describing it as a sign of reciprocation of her love for and personal connection to Austria. Especially Vienna, where she has celebrated many of her greatest successes.
She is the eighth overall recipient and the second female artist to have been selected for the Media Prize.
