In four performances from November 23rd to December 5th, Camilla Nylund resumed the title role in Puccini’s “Tosca” for the first time since 2021, when she first debuted the part at the Finnish National Opera.

On November 9th 2022, after a performance of Richard Strauss’s “Ariadne auf Naxos”, Camilla Nylund was awarded the Lotte-Lehmann-Gedächtnisring at the Vienna State Opera by director Bogdan Roscic and Hans-Peter Kammerer, president of the Soloists’ Association (Solistenverband der Wiener Staatsoper).

On September 18th, “Die Walküre” premiered as the second part of the newest instalment of Richard Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, directed by Andreas Homoki, at the Zürich Opera House. With it came Camilla Nylund’s debut in the role of Brünnhilde – her second Wagner debut of the year, having been preceded by Isolde in June.

On September 24th Camilla Nylund was awarded the European Culture Prize TAURUS in the category of Music. The award ceremony, which visits a different European city each year, was held at the Tonhalle Zürich – with the Tonhalle-Orchester acting as both host and one of 11 nominees for the evening.

On June 26th 2022, Camilla Nylund gave her stage debut as Isolde in Richard Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” at the Zürich Opera House. The revival of Claus Guth’s production of the piece, under the baton of general music director Gianandrea Noseda, included cast members such as Michelle Breedt (Brangäne), Michael Weinius (Tristan) and Martin Gantner (Kurwenal) and was, as its initial premiere in 2008, generally well-received and praised for both a vocally strong cast as well as aesthetic directing.

On September 24th Camilla Nylund will be awarded the TAURUS Prize of the European Culture Forum at the Tonhalle Zürich. She will perform Leonore’s aria from Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Fidelio” at the gala, accompanied by the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich under the baton of Paavo Järvi.

On February 16th Camilla gave a recital of works by Robert and Clara Schumann as well as Gustav and Alma Mahler at the Brucknerhaus Linz - accompanied by pianist Helmut Deutsch. The programme was titled “Frauenliebe und (Ehe-)Leben”, focussing not only on works by both well-known male composers, but their wives as well...
