On November 9th 2022, after a performance of Richard Strauss’s “Ariadne auf Naxos”, Camilla Nylund was awarded the Lotte-Lehmann-Gedächtnisring at the Vienna State Opera by director Bogdan Roscic and Hans-Peter Kammerer, president of the Soloists’ Association (Solistenverband der Wiener Staatsoper).

Brünnhilde debut in Zürich

On September 18th, “Die Walküre” premiered as the second part of the newest instalment of Richard Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, directed by Andreas Homoki, at the Zürich Opera House. With it came Camilla Nylund’s debut in the role of Brünnhilde – her second Wagner debut of the year, having been preceded by Isolde in June.

European Culture Prize

On September 24th Camilla Nylund was awarded the European Culture Prize TAURUS in the category of Music.
The award ceremony, which visits a different European city each year, was held at the Tonhalle Zürich – with the Tonhalle-Orchester acting as both host and one of 11 nominees for the evening.

Isolde debut at the Zürich Opera House

On June 26th 2022, Camilla Nylund gave her stage debut as Isolde in Richard Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” at the Zürich Opera House.
The revival of Claus Guth’s production of the piece, under the baton of general music director Gianandrea Noseda, included cast members such as Michelle Breedt (Brangäne), Michael Weinius (Tristan) and Martin Gantner (Kurwenal) and was, as its initial premiere in 2008, generally well-received and praised for both a vocally strong cast as well as aesthetic directing.

European Culture Prize 2022

On September 24th Camilla Nylund will be awarded the TAURUS Prize of the European Culture Forum at the Tonhalle Zürich.
She will perform Leonore’s aria from Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Fidelio” at the gala, accompanied by the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich under the baton of Paavo Järvi.
